Herberts in training win

Herbert Smith was the only law firm to win an award in this year's National Institute of IT Training awards.The City firm won the best internal training project for its eight-week training programme for secretaries who join the firm and need training in legal work and the way Herbert Smith operates.It involves classroom and on-line training, regular reviews and tests.There were nearly 30 entries for the award.

Scottish Prison Service College came second and AON third.John Rogers, Herbert Smith's head of IT services said: 'The training programme has been a great success within the firm - the newly developed secretaries are in strong demand from partners.'The firm was also a finalist in the best e-learning project award, which was won by Manchester NHS Agency & LearnECDL.David Bullock, IT customer service manager, said the firm's e-learning team was re-selling its on-line content, with sales to US firms becoming 'more and more frequent'.
