Last week we had lawyers jumping off buildings; this week we have them leaping out of aeroplanes (and presumably leaving their common sense behind).

First there is legal executive Sarah Ferris (above)(see [2003] Gazette, 11 September, 12) of Reading firm Clarks who, along with four colleagues, raised 1,169 for the Anthony Nolan Trust, a charity for people suffering from bone marrow diseases, through a tandem dive (that is, an experienced parachutist to whom they were securely attached did the important stuff, like pulling the cord and landing).

And then we have Ginny Stace, of Nottingham firm Martin Smalley & Co, who celebrated her qualification as a solicitor in this somewhat unorthodox manner.

What happened to an old-fashioned knees-up down the local? Ms Stace, who enjoyed it so much that she plans to repeat the experience shortly in aid of Cancer Research, describes it as 'the second bravest thing I have ever done after the LPC'.
