At least the Legal Services Commission (LSC) retains a sense of humour despite its current woes. It appears to have published an April Fool's Day joke, somewhat belatedly, but perhaps due to some unexpectedly extended period of consultation?
The advertisement is for a new post called Director of Organisational Transformation (perhaps to be known as 'Dotty' in the office). Surprisingly late in the process, the LSC has decided it needs someone to lead its reform programme. The applicant will be 'used to operating with autonomy and sensitivity in an environment of ambiguity and political scrutiny'. There is an attractive six-figure package on offer for this post in London.
At first I thought that it would be an ideal job for a defence solicitor and I was going to apply.
However, I have reflected that it is probably pointless as there is already a perfectly suited potential candidate who is shortly to become available. If you go for it, good luck to you Mr Blair and good luck to us.
