l IBA LAUNCHES COMPETITION SERVICEThe International Bar Association (IBA) has launched a 'one-stop shop' competition law Web site which provides details of the law in 126 countries.

The site also acts as a forum for speeches, articles and commentary.

Michael Diedring, the IBA's deputy executive director, said: 'We initially contacted the national regulatory authorities for information, but soon word got around and the operation snowballed to include input from private lawyers and other institutions.'LINKS: www.globalcompetitionforum.org

l BUOYANT SITE HAS WORD ON THE STREETLaw on the Web, the site launched by solicitor Martin Davies in 1999, had a record month in May, reporting 29,089 unique users.

The site is also launching both a database-driven key word directory of law firms on the Web, in association with SPR Consilio.

There are an estimated 1,500 law firms on-line, of which 500 have so far been listed in the directory, which Mr Davies said should be complete in three months.
