- COAL AUTHORITY WINS COMPUTING PRIZEThe Coal Authority has won the British Computer Society management award for its mining report and surface damage system.
British Airways and the Royal Bank of Scotland International were shortlisted.
The system - set up through a PFI deal awarded to Cap Gemini Ernst & Young - produced 459,656 reports in the year to 31 March.

ActiveLawyer, which builds database-driven Web sites, has merged with IT solutions provider Transputec.
And digital dictation and transcription company Voicepath has added translation to its services by buying Leamington Spa-based COMTEC Translations.
