- ENVIRONMENTAL BODY STUDIES E-LIBRARYEnvironmental law experts launched a study last month on how best to get information across to the public and business using the Internet.

The aim is to address what the UK Environmental Law Association (UKELA) sees as a lack of access to information, which the association says is hampering environmental protection and good business practice.

It has teamed up with BRASS, Cardiff University's centre on business relationships, accountability, sustainability and society, to investigate how an e-library on environmental law would be used by the public.

- JMW GEARS UP FOR TRAFFIC CONGESTIONManchester firm JMW has announced plans for a series of on-line marketing strategies to drive traffic to its new Web site.

Marketing manager Daniel Clark said it would use 'search engine optimisation', on-line advertisements such as banners and pop-ups, graphics-based e-mail campaigns, and reciprocal links to boost its profile.

The firm is also using video streaming on the site and plans to include a Web cam to monitor the construction of its new offices when building starts next year.

Meanwhile, the Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service (CAFCASS) has won the Plain English Campaign's annual Web award for the year's best Web site.

And the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority now offers an on-line eligibility questionnaire, application form and tariff calculator.LINKS: www.jmw.co.uk; www.cafcass.gov.uk; www.cica.gov.uk
