A human rights solicitor had her first short drama shown at the Raindance East Film Festival in London last weekend. Zoe Neirizi, who qualified in February at south London firm Kola Fitzpatrick & Co, came to the UK from Iran in 1976 and studied at the London International Film School before returning to Iran when the Shah's reign ended in 1979. She came back to the UK in 1993, having been imprisoned by the Khomeini regime for more than three years. 'The Corridor' is based on her own experience as a political activist in Iran in 1980s and sees a woman having her daughter, born in prison, taken away by the authorities to be brought up by her husband's family. It aims to the look at the nature of organised state violence and the price paid by those who stand up to it.
