Manchester firm JMW Solicitors has bought the rights to a Web site aimed at providing the public with guidance on criminal law in a bid to boost its marketing strategy.
The site, www.criminal-solicitors.
com, focuses on a range of crimes including motoring offences, theft, assault and criminal damage, with particular reference to how the police view and administer laws.
It provides information on how people might fall foul of the law, what the criminal law procedure is in relation to the offences and what penalties they could expect to face, and features an enquiry form that can be completed and returned on-line.
JMW plans to expand the site to include information on serious fraud and the rights of the individual following arrest.
The site receives some 2,500 hits each month; all enquiries are directed to the firm's specialist crime team.
Marketing manager Daniel Clark said he was confident that the site would step up the firm's public profile.
'Since going live two weeks ago, the new site has already generated a number of enquiries, so our expectations for this site as a marketing tool are high,' he added.
