Key speakers for Law Society annual conference unveiled

The first keynote speakers for this year's Law Society annual conference on 27 to 28 September have been unveiled.

A plenary session panel at the Manchester International Conference Centre will include the Attorney-General, Lord Goldsmith QC, and Steve Orchard, chief executive of the Legal Services Commission.

The theme of the conference is 'the changing legal landscape'.

Breakout sessions will include future delivery of services, diversity and equality of opportunity, human rights, and judicial appointments.

Money laundering, fixed costs, quality marks and risk management will also be on the agenda.

Reflecting Manchester's hosting of the Commonwealth Games and its football culture, Manchester United's solicitor, Maurice Watkins, will lead a sports law session.
