Law firms outnumber financial services in a list of the 100 best businesses to work for.

Ten law firms feature in The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For 2015 compared with five businesses from the financial services sector.

London firm Mishcon de Reya jumped 13 places from 2013 to make the seventh - and highest law firm spot - in this year’s list.

Other firms making a reappearance from last year are Kingsley Napley, Withy King, Lewis Silkin, Mills & Reeve, Withers and Baker & McKenzie.

Making their debut on the list were Bolton firm Asons Solicitors, south-west firm Stephens Scown and national firm Freeths.

The top spot was taken by online insurance company Simply Business. Ahead of the highest legal entrant were a telecoms reseller, telephone service company and contract caterer.

Firms were judged on eight categories including leadership, wellbeing, giving something back and personal growth.

Financial services did, however, fare better in a list of the 25 best big companies to work for, with organisations such as AXA and HSBC occupying five of the 25 places.
