A five-point engagement programme to support in-house solicitors – who make up 21% of the profession – is to be unveiled by the Law Society.

The plan, for members in the corporate and public sectors and not-for-profit organisations, will promote the in-house profession and provide opportunities for in-house lawyers to influence the development of the legal sector. It will be unveiled at an event in London on 17 September and in Leeds on 23 September.

Society In-house Division committee chair Sapna FitzGerald said there is no ‘one size fits all’ prescription for in-house lawyers. ‘This is an opportunity to make sure our voice is heard,’ she added.
