Lawyer to sue Easyjet
A Merseyside solicitor who claims he was ejected from Liverpool's John Lennon airport after trying to inform fellow stranded passengers about their legal rights, is threatening to sue low-cost airline Easyjet after the flight to Paris was cancelled.
Brian Camp, a consultant at Birkenhead-based personal injury specialists Brian Camp & Co, his wife and four friends were going on a weekend trip to Paris when they were informed an hour and a half after it was scheduled to depart that the flight was cancelled because there was no crew available in Liverpool.
Passengers were offered a refund or a coach trip at 6am the next morning down to Luton to catch another flight to Paris.
'Easyjet offered us no apology, and after I told the queue of people waiting speak to their ground-handling agents not to sign any forms - which would absolve Easyjet of responsibility - I was ejected from the airport by security,' said Mr Camp.
He is now attempting to get CCTV footage of the incident, maintaining that he behaved 'impeccably'.
He has also written to the airline seeking compensation for his cancelled holiday, claiming that the decision to cancel the flight was a commercial one.
'Easyjet made a conscious decision to cancel the flight rather than transfer an available crew from Luton,' he said.
An Easyjet spokesman said passengers were offered a refund or an alternative flight from Luton, and said the airline was not obliged to refund additional holiday costs.
He refused to comment on the alleged airport eviction.
