Lend a hand

As the Council for Mortgage Lenders (CML) lenders' handbook appears to be here to stay, could I plead with the CML properly to fund its publication in loose-leaf/ noter-up form so as to ensure that solicitors' copies stay up-to-date without the need to cross-reference supplements to particular paragraphs? In relation to part 11 instructions, there seem to have been a large number of amendments to these since last year.

These are invariably received piecemeal from individual lenders, there being no centralised distribution or update system through the CML.Having telephoned the CML, I discovered that it had no updates but was happy to 'sell' an updated full copy of the handbook for 25.

Could I be so bold as to suggest that one might take the view that a new CML lenders' handbook should be purchased for each and every borrower and the disbursement cost passed on to the borrower?
