Let them eat cake

Law firms are doing their bit for the birthday cake industry, we are happy to report.

Slightly twee these may be, but two practices - Birmingham's Pearcelegal and Sussex's Smith Gadd & Co - recently celebrated their 21st and tenth anniversaries respectively with cake and copious nibbles in the traditional fashion.

Founding partner Graham Pearce (below) is doing the honours with his cake, and also ceremoniously handed over cheques for 100 each to two local charities at the event.
