Your recent editorial asks why the Legal Services Commission is piloting its worrying schemes in London and points out that if they fail, recovery will be very hard indeed (see [2005] Gazette, 3 February, 15). You are right.
Perhaps the majority of those who would be affected by the loss of essential liberties proposed by the government (as set out in Susan Hardie's letter) live in London (see [2005] Gazette, 3 February, 16).
