London law firm mourns Potters Bar crash victim
FATALITY: senior partner pays tribute to trainee solicitor
A trainee solicitor at a south London firm was one of the victims of the Potters Bar rail crash last week.
Alexander Ogunwusi, 42, had recently completed his legal practice course at the University of Westminster and was working at Oval-based Afrifa & Partners as a caseworker.
The firm specialises in immigration, and Mr Ogunwusi was on his way to interview a client at Oakington Reception Centre when the train derailed at Potters Bar station in Hertfordshire.
He was pronounced dead at nearby Barnet hospital.
Senior partner Kwaku Afrifa paid tribute to Mr Ogunwusi.
'He was a very lively and reliable colleague who was very well liked by everyone he came into contact with,' he said.
'He had a wonderful deep voice and a very impressive manner in dealing with our clients, and I have no doubt that he would have made an impressive solicitor.'
Originally from Nigeria, Mr Ogunwusi was known to the members of his tribe as Prince Alexander Adetunji Mubo Ogunwusi.
He leaves behind a wife and four young children, aged between five and 13.
Seven people died in the train crash last week, which is believed to have been caused by a faulty set of points on the track outside the station.
