Marketing sharks

Some lawyers never seem to learn - even those that should know better, such as the media savvy bunch at Finers Stephens Innocent.

When media darlings, including Kate Adie and Richard Desmond, gathered for the firm's well-attended litigation department reception last week, they were greeted with a practice newsletter adorned with sharks circling in forbidding deep waters.

As shark imagery is surpassed only by plump felines as the no-go area for law firm marketing, it was a surprising choice.

Equally surprising was the newsletter's title, Brighter Plumage.

Perhaps there is a new, genetically altered feathered breed of shark operating at FSI.
