The media should be given access to the family courts provided there are clear ground rules, a senior Court of Appeal judge has said. Giving his personal views in a speech in Birmingham last week, Lord Justice Wall said the move would help to overturn accusations and criticisms that the family justice system was secretive by design. However, he added that he was opposed to the admission of the public into family courts, saying that 'there is a difference between the public interest and public curiosity.'
