A senior in-house lawyer at investment bank Goldman Sachs has been appointed as general counsel for the London 2012 Organising Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG). Terry Miller, who as international general counsel was responsible for Goldman Sachs' lawyers in Europe and Asia, will head up the London 2012 legal team. A key part of the team's work over the next six years will include the drafting of more than 7,000 contracts with venues, hotels, commercial partners, contractors and suppliers. A former partner in US firm Kirkpatrick & Lockhart, Ms Miller will also act as LOCOG's ethical compliance officer. She takes over as head of legal from Charles Wijeratna, who becomes director of commercial negotiations.
