Missing the boat
There is nothing like grabbing the moment, and a press release received last week from Newcastle firm Ward Hadaway was, sadly, nothing like it.
The firm, which has a place in the Obiter hall of fame for one of the least interesting press releases ever received (news back in 2000 that it had recruited an assistant librarian), is now in the running for the much-coveted 'Completely missed the boat' category by announcing that it has won a place on one of the cross-departmental government legal panels under the new 'L-Cat' arrangements.
A good story, you may say, and indeed the panels were when we reported them on 3 April.
