Spring is in the air once again, and Andrew Muriel, who was Watson Farley & Williams's worldwide head of aviation, has flown the coop to join fellow City firm DLA.

Tax partner Jonathan Ivinson joins the London office of US firm McDermott Will & Emery, moving from telecoms solutions provider Carrier1, where he was vice-president of tax affairs.

Financial services lawyer Deborah Sabalot has left Lovells, where she was 'of counsel' to join Landwell, PricewaterhouseCoopers' associated law firm, as a partner.

Nick Jacob moves from London-based Rooks Rider to join Lawrence Graham's offshore private banking team as partner, along with his senior assistant, Nicola Weil.

Vincent O'Brien moves across the Atlantic from Florida law firm Faugel O'Brien to join Crawley-based Stevensdrake as partner and head of corporate finance.

Bristol firm Glynns no longer has a sole principal after Jennifer Renney was promoted to partner specialising in personal injury, industrial and employment law.

David Pester, corporate finance head at fellow Bristol firm TLT, has been promoted to managing partner, taking over from Robert Bourns, who becomes senior employment partner.

Lincoln-based Andrew & Co has promoted probate and trust assistants Alison Short and Helen Newson to partner.

The firm now now has ten partners.

Manchester firm Croftons has drafted in Simon Leighton as a personal injury partner from Bolton-based Keoghs.

Offshore, Guernsey firm Carey Langlois has made up two English-qualified lawyers to partner: employment solicitor Louise Hall and personal injury barrister Clare Tee.

Both have requalified as Guernsey advocates.

The warmer weather has also given associates and assistants in the capital itchy feet.

In addition to its new partner, Lawrence Graham has lured senior solicitor Richard Williams away from Cayman Islands firm Maples & Calder to boost its private client department.

Reynolds Porter Chamberlain has recruited Jonathan Moss as a senior reinsurance solicitor; he moves from fellow London firm Vizards Wyeth.

US firm Baker Botts has recruited two senior assistants for its London energy team, with Cam Brockie moving from Clifford Chance, and Geoff Peters quitting Freshfields.

Healthcare regulatory specialist Archana Daniels moves to Bristows from City firm Bird & Bird as an assistant.

North London's Hodge Jones & Allen has pulled off a triple whammy of new family assistants: Donna Rose from ASB Law, Helen Sheeran from Landes and Susan Breen from Olliers.

A second hat-trick has been achieved by M4 firm Morgan Cole's commercial property team: Paul Bromhead moves from Blake Lapthorn, Deryn Bassett leaves Newbury-based Charles Lucas & Marshall, and Kam Patel switches from ASB Law.

West country firm Bevan Ashford has kept on five trainees after qualification: in Bristol, Rob Harrison (real estate), Nadeem Arshad (private finance initiative projects), and Angela Penn and Adam Finch (both commercial litigation); and in London, Anya Worrall (employment).

Criminal law solicitor Rod Smith switches to Caerphilly-based Evans & Greaves from fellow south Wales firm Fonseca & Partners.

Yorkshire-based Gordons Cranswick has brought in assistant Ian Copley from Leeds firm Howard Cohen to head its debt recovery team.

Sunderland firm Jacqueline Emmerson has recruited solicitor Elizabeth Armstrong to head the newly created property law unit.

She moves from County Durham firm Kirkup Lascelles & Creed.

There has been a rush to snap up consultants this week.

City firm CMS Cameron McKenna is joined by healthcare solicitor Zelda Pickup, who moves from her role of managing counsel at pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca.

Bournemouth firm Isaacs Partnership has lured John Carmichael from his role as partner in Poole-based Trevanions, to join its civil, commercial and housing law team.In Ipswich, David Rogers has joined Prettys as an insurance consultant, moving from Vizards Wyeth.
