Partners

Promotions continue to dominate the agenda, but we start with the fall-out from the Stephenson Harwood/Sinclair Roche & Temperley merger in the City.

Sinclair partners Robert Parson (trade finance and commodities) and Russell Ridley (energy and shipping) have joined Clyde & Co with assistants Balvinder Ahluwalia and Anne-Chsristin Herold.

US/UK firm Mayer Brown Rowe & Maw has 91 partners after four promotions: William Glassey and Ingrid Hobbs (both litigation and dispute resolution), Caroline Taylor (real estate) and Mary Bagnall (intellectual property).

Charles Russell has 76 partners following the promotions of Jennifer Pierce (intellectual property), Dinah Spence (dispute resolution) and Glafkos Tombolis (corporate finance).

DJ Freeman has promoted insurance lawyer Helen Clark.

London firm Barnett Sampson has two new family partners, after promoting Camilla Fusco and recruiting Julia Snow from Vizard Oldham.

It has six partners in total.

In Woking, commercial lawyers Martin Steer and Veronica Bailey have been promoted to partners at Robbins Olivey, taking the firm's total to eight.

A double promotion at Exeter-based Foot Anstey Sargent: Keith Biggs (commercial property) and Roger Sands (corporate finance).

They are the first new partners since the firm was created through merger two years ago.

Charles Du Buisson has joined Oxford firm Linnells as a media and technology partner from Accenture in Paris, where he was in-house.

Further east, in Ipswich, Prettys has promoted employment expert Matthew Cole to partner.

Wolverhampton-based fbc - formerly Foster Baxter Cooksey - has 16 partners following the elevation of commercial lawyer James Sage and matrimonial lawyers Richard Barge and Paul Ford.

Elsewhere in the midlands, Freethcartwright has promoted clinical negligence expert Jonathan Fuggle in the Derby office and Nottingham-based compensation lawyer Vanessa Warren.

Nottingham firm Fraser Brown has recruited Mike Sargent as partner and head of residential conveyancing from Loughborough practice Hawley & Rodgers.

Sheffield-based Taylor & Emmet has promoted probate lawyers Chaanah Patton and Richard King to partners, taking the firm total to 12.

Harrogate firm Kirbys now has five partners having recruited family lawyer Peter Lowe from Langleys.

Manchester firm Kuit Steinart Levy has elevated employment specialist Lydia Edgar to partner.

The promotions of Jamie Patton (personal injury) and Christine Harris (insolvency) have taken the partnership tally to 11 at Preston-based Birchall Blackburn.

Associates / assistants

London firm Finers Stephens Innocent has scooped up senior planning solicitor Archana Hogarth from Mayer Brown Rowe & Maw.

In Chelmsford, Merricks has recruited commercial disputes associate Wendy Beach from Wollastons, probate senior assistant Jane Sullivan from Marshall Sutton Jones and commercial assistant Robert Everrett from Budd Martin Burrett.

Joining Wollastons in Chelmsford is senior solicitor and family expert Melanie Wilson, who leaves Twitchen Musters & Kelly.

Guildford firm TWM (Triggs Wilkinson Mann) has taken on solicitors Charlotte Adler (matrimonial), Jeremy Harcourt (private client) and Fred Fowle (property) from Foster Wells, Moore Stephens and Boldon Youatt respectively.

On the south-coast, Blake Lapthorn has strengthened the commercial property team in Southampton by snapping up Victoria Kelly from Penningtons.

Another commercial property solicitor, Heather Fraser, has joined Swindon-based Charles Lucas & Marshall from Allen & Fraser.

In addition to its partner promotions, Freethcartwright has moved Julie Greenwood (clinical negligence) and Paul Berwick (cost recovery) up to principal managers with associate status.

Employment solicitor Joan Pettingill has joined Leeds firm Nelson & Co from Last Cawthra Feather in Bradford.

In addition to its new partners, Birchall Blackburn has promoted Paul Pickering (commercial litigation) and Rhonda Rosenfield (family) to associates.
