In the City, Salans leads the way by bringing in two teams.

Four corporate lawyers have joined from the London office of US firm Steptoe & Johnson.

Jonathan Polin, who was head of corporate there, joins as a partner, while Tony Wollenberg moves to a consultant role.

Joining them are assistants Graham Spitz and Nick Nocton.

Meanwhile, a three-lawyer insolvency/ corporate team has moved from Davies Arnold Cooper: partner Bryan Green and associates Sonia Jordan and Jim Varley.

Simmons & Simmons has scooped up asset finance partner Christopher Boresjo from Norton Rose.

Corporate and finance partner Paul Corren has left Osborne Clarke to join Holman Fenwick & Willan.

Niche corporate firm Orchard has added a litigation partner - Gerallt Owen from Dechert.

Andrea Squires joins Finers Stephens Innocent's private finance initiative property team as a partner from Bevan Ashford.

US firm Hunton & Williams has two new partners for its London office dispute resolution team: John Miles and Marie Kidwell both join from Mayer Brown Rowe & Maw.

Barry Hayes has closed his niche practice in Exeter to join Tozers as head of the marine and transport team.

Finally, Worcester firm Harrison Clark has elected family lawyer Jonathan Brew as its senior partner, with his predecessor David Harrison becoming a consultant.

Peterborough firm Greenwoods has two new commercial property assistants from in-house roles: Pritpal Singh Swarn, from the London Borough of Camden, and Matthew Ingle, previously at coffee bar franchise company Puccino's.

In London, Charles Russell has brought in Stewart Hey as a senior associate in the commercial dispute resolution team.

He joins from KLegal, where he was segment head for the automotive sector.

A couple of lawyers have left the City: insurance assistant Uma Ramani has swapped Reynolds Porter Chamberlain for Chelmsford firm Merricks while commercial assistant Tom Conway has joined south-west firm Foot Anstey Sargent from Gouldens.

Simon Collis has joined the commercial property/business services team at Portsmouth-based Coffin Mew & Clover having completed his training with the firm.

Worcester firm Harrison Clark has promoted family lawyer Sophie Hughes to associate.

Knight & Sons in Newcastle-under-Lyme has recruited commercial property lawyer Claire Tierney from Heatons in Stoke.
