In London, Richard Brown, an executive director within the investment banking division at Goldman Sachs, is to join Lovells as a partner specialising in equity capital markets.
Manches has hired partner Alex Carter-Silk from City firm DJ Freeman, where he was previously head of the intellectual property law group responsible for copyright, industrial design, trade marks and patent matters.
He is joined by trade mark attorney Gary Tarrant.
In south London, leading healthcare firm Capsticks has recruited mental health specialist Ashley Irons as a partner from Reid Minty.
City firm Macfarlanes has named its promoted partners: Dan Lavender (litigation), Eliza O'Toole (infrastructure development, public law and planning), Simon Perry (corporate), Edward Reed (private client) and Elizabeth Sherwood (corporate tax).
From 1 May, the firm will have 62 partners.
Central London property firm Forsters will have 23 partners from 1 April after making up Jonathan Ross, its head of property litigation, and general commercial property lawyer Andrew Crabbie.
Central London specialist fraud firm Morgan Rose has made up Mark Panton to partner.

Duncan Murray arrives as the 18th partner at Birmingham-based Lee Crowder, where he will lead the banking services team.

US/UK firm Reed Smith has expanded its range of employment law services after recruiting senior associate Michael Calvert from City firm Ashurst Morris Crisp to head up its pensions practice.
The London office of US firm Dewey Ballantine has made a double swoop on Linklaters to strengthen its projects team: associates Shawn Atkinson and Kirsten Bennett have both made the move.
A triple property recruitment for the London office of Chelmsford-based Merricks: senior property assistant Linna Li joins from Porter Crossick in north London, construction assistant Andrew Sutherland from in-house at John Laing, and commercial property assistant Karen Boother from Steele & Co.
Debobroto Dey qualifies into the civil litigation, housing and prison law practice at Huntingdon-based Kirkpatricks.
Family lawyer Ruth Wymbs also joins the firm from Foreman Laws in Hitchen.

Finally, three assistants join Betesh Fox & Co in Manchester.
Phil Hitchen (corporate) joins from Stoke firm Kent Jones & Done, Kate Humpston (commercial litigation) from Beachcroft Wansbroughs, and Helen Hughes (also commercial litigation) from Scottish firm MacRoberts.
She is set to requalify as an English solicitor in April.
