Partnership

A quiet week for lateral hires, but Addleshaw Goddard has brought in Andrew Maskill from north-west firm DWF to head a new asset finance group based in the firm's Manchester office.

Nantwich-based Poole Alcock has recruited Jill Novotny from Northwich firm Moss & Haselhurst as a commercial conveyancing partner and made up residential conveyancer Sarah Jarrett.

The firm now has 18 partners.

In the north-east, Colette Stroud - a one-time assistant with Newcastle-based Crutes - has set up a family law firm under her own name in Ponteland, where she is joined by assistant Joanne Scott, who worked as an assistant with Sunderland firm Ben Hoare Bell until last year.

Sheffield-based firm Wake Smith has promoted company lawyer Duncan Shepherd to the partnership.

In the midlands, corporate lawyer Jim Docherty moves up to become an associate partner at Lichfield-based Keelys.

Morton Fisher has promoted probate lawyer Valerie Robinson to partner in its Kidderminster office.

In Huntingdon, Kirkpatricks has promoted criminal lawyer Catriona Macleod to the partnership, and now has five partners.

Family lawyer Simon Bethel has been promoted to partner and head of family at Newmarket-based Edmondson Hall, now a three-partner firm.

City firm Charles Russell has made up five: in London, employment lawyers Gabriella Wright and Joanne Owers, Kris Weber (pensions) and Stephanie Code (clinical negligence), and Helen Adlard (planning) in the Cheltenham office.

The firm now has 84 partners.

Litigator Andrew Conway has been promoted to partner at niche central London commercial practice Lawrence Stephens.

South London firm Venters has promoted criminal lawyer Warren Robinson to partner.

Exeter firm Tozers has 21 partners after making up Ian Walker (family) and Gill Dyde (probate).

The Croydon office of ASB Law has taken on Richard Mumford as a commercial litigation associate.

He joins from the Financial Services Authority in London, where he was a manager in the enforcement division.

In London, shipping lawyer Andrew Pearson leaves Waltons & Morse for EG Arghyrakis & Co.

Tracey Storey, a personal injury associate specialising in child abuse cases, leaves Russell Jones & Walker for Irwin Mitchell's London office.

Neil Kochane, formerly an assistant with Berrymans Lace Mawer, joins Plexus Law's catastrophic injury team.

Davenport Lyons has brought in tax and trusts associate Emma Lampier from Lee Bolton & Lee.

City firm Charles Russell has promoted seven assistants to associate level: company commercial lawyers Victoria Brett, Andrew Clason, Alexander Keepin, Vincenzo Lanni and Jason Saiban; Michael Bradshaw (employment) and Nina Burden (litigation).
