The idea of special groups for City firms and other sectors have been floating around for 18 months.
I've been trying to do something about it, but I don't remember either Mr Napier or Mr McIntosh saying anything until now.'Meanwhile, Mr Napier clarified this week that he did not support the Law Society becoming a 'pure regulator'.Similarly, deputy vice-presidential candidate David Savage clarified that he was standing as an 'independent' candidate and did not back any of the candidates over any other, as had been suggested.
