Networking rough
The old view of lawyers as chilly mortals may well be proved true - at least in the literal sense - later this month.
Two hardy individuals, Theodore Goddard partner Paul Renney and Tarlo Lyons partner Laetitia Muir, have volunteered to spend the night sleeping rough to raise money for charity.
The two lawyers will be joining more than 130 IT professionals in what will be a rather crowded Finsbury Square as part of 'Byte night', organised by children's charity NCH (formerly National Children's Home).
Others kipping on the pavement will include the general manager of Hewlett Packard, a vice-president of IBM and a vice-president of O2.
Bearing this in mind, less charitable souls than ourselves may suggest that this seems like an ideal opportunity for IT lawyers to cosy up - both in a business sense and a literal sense - to potential clients.
Look out for some serious networking over the sleeping bags and business card swapping over the roaring dustbin fires.
