The National Land Information Service (NLIS) last month completed its millionth on-line property search, while the number of law firms using the service has topped 3,250, it emerged last week.
NLIS said searches can now take less than an hour and, on occasion, as little as two minutes to complete.
Meanwhile, TM Property Service - one of the three NLIS channel providers - has been shortlisted for supply chain strategy of the year and e-business strategy of the year at the National Business Awards, sponsored by Orange.
In other property related developments, south London firm Russell-Cooke has created a French property law Web site, which aims to provide a comprehensive resource for people looking to buy a property in France.
Bristol firm Burroughs Day has launched a micro-site for people considering suing solicitors or surveyors for negligence over the purchase of their property.
It will consider acting on a conditional fee basis.
