Non-constituency council election

The Law Society hereby gives notice of a casual election of a non-constituency council seat designated for the Employment Lawyers Association.

In accordance with by-law 56, ballots will be held to fill the seat.

The vacancy arose by the resignation of Jason Robert Smith.

The council has fixed 9 May 2003 as the election date for filling this vacancy.

The successful candidate will serve until the conclusion of the annual general meeting in 2005.

Nominees for election must be members of the Law Society and members of the Employment Lawyers Association.

Those nominating candidates must be similarly qualified.

The Society wishes to encourage applications from all eligible solicitors irrespective of gender, race, colour, age (subject to the age limit of 70 years as stated in the by-laws), sexual orientation or disability.
