I am slightly intrigued (perhaps naively) that it can still be so boldly stated that 'a certain type of student goes to Oxbridge and Oxbridge breeds a certain type of graduate' (see [2005] Gazette, 2 June, 13).


Liking to think that I am someone who falls into the category of 'many clever students who positively [chose] not to apply to Oxford or Cambridge' but married to one who did not, it would be interesting to receive further and better particulars of the 'certain type'.
