Offer declined
We had, frankly, been feeling left out.
So many law firms have over the years sent us copies of Nigerian fraud letters - promising riches beyond the dreams of avarice, if you'll just help out in advance with a few processing fees - that we kind of wanted to get one ourselves.
And now we have - of a sort, anyway, as it is technically a Sierra Leonean letter.
Despite the lure of an easy 2 million or so, we feel obliged to follow the advice we have printed so often and turn down the kind offer from the son of a former brigadier in the local army who managed to salt away 18.5 million, even though he considers us the 'reliable and sincere foreign partner' specified in his late father's rather touching will.
