INTERVENTIONS

Jeffrey Jones

On 29 May 2003, the professional regulation adjudication panel of the Office for the Supervision of Solicitors (OSS) intervened in the practice of the above-named solicitor, who practised at Central Mews, Crane Street, Pontypool, Gwent NP4 6LY, under the firm name of Bowen & Son.

Chris Mayers of MLM Solicitors of Pendragon House, Fitzalan Court, Newport Road, Cardiff CF24 OBA, tel: 029 2046 2562; DX 33011 Cardiff 1, has been appointed to act as the Society's agent.

Pursuant to the intervention, Mr Jones's practising certificate has been suspended.

Andrew John Tempest

On 30 April 2003, the panel intervened in the remains of the practice of the above-named solicitor.

Mr Tempest had formerly practised as Tempest Solicitors at 317a Hartshill Road, Stoke-on-Trent ST4 7NR.

The firm had closed on 30 June 2000, and the intervention relates to residual files of the firm.

Dennis Philip Hardy

On 27 May 2003, the panel intervened in the practice of the above-named solicitor, who practised at 220 Walton Breck Road, Liverpool L4 0RQ, under the firm name of D P Hardy & Co.

Simon Patrick Cannon

On 21 March 2003, the panel intervened in the practice of the above-named solicitor, who formerly practised at 1a High Street, Cobham, Surrey KT11 3DH, under the firm name Cannon & Co.

Jonathan Rouse of Penningtons, da Vinci House, Basing View, Basingstoke, Hampshire RG21 4EQ, DX 122362 Basingstoke 8, has been appointed to act as the Society's agent.

Solicitor's clerks

With effect from the date of notification, an adjudicator (acting under delegated powers from the Society) has ordered that no solicitor should employ or remunerate the following persons in connection with practice as a solicitor, except in accordance with the written permission of the Society for such period and subject to such conditions as might be specified in the permission (section 43(2) of the Solicitors Act 1974):
