On-line advice on separation and divorceUp to 200 family law solicitors are being invited to join a national on-line network providing advice on separation and divorce. The network is based around the latest divorce Web site, www.divorceuk.com, established by Scottish solicitor Donald Wright.
The site provides information on the divorce and separation process, finances, including pensions and property, children and the Child Support Agency, and advice on do-it-yourself divorce and whether it is advisable.
There is also a question and answer section.A franchise-style package of services is being offered to individual solicitors or firms for a cost of 40 per month upwards.
For that, solicitors can advertise their firm name and profile the family specialist on-line, receive all requests for advice in their geographical area and take advantage of the site's marketing programme.Newcastle upon Tyne firm Smithson Clarke, Wooley & Co in Worcester, Stratford-upon-Avon and Coventry, and Brethertons in Rugby and Banbury have already signed up to the deal.Mr Wright, the partner at Wright & Co who set up the site, said it would appeal to the 'less traditional' firms which were willing to work via e-mail.
He added that the site was now generating up to 28 enquiries in a morning which could be referred on to firms and potentially turned into new clients.
The range of enquiries from national and international users should make the franchise attractive to firms of all types, he said.
