Further to the letters of Colin Glass and Alan Turle (see [2007] Gazette, 15 November, 15), I am pleased that they have received their practicing certificates. The Solicitors Regulation Authority appears in error to have sent me a certificate of food hygeine - very similar to those hanging in my local sandwich shop.

As a member of the Law Society, I would have hoped that any certificate would contain at least the Law Society crest. Crests impress my mum. Food hygeine certificates do not (unless hanging in an industrial kitchen).

Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, no doubt they will be joining me in recommending a number of tasty fillings to brighten up lunchtime. Come on, Law Society - give us back our crest.
