The Press Complaints Commission (PCC) has received some 50 complaints about media pictures of a solicitor committing suicide.
Friends and former colleagues have paid tribute to Katherine Ward, a lawyer at Rolls Royce, who jumped to her death from a ledge outside a hotel in London last week. A passing photographer took pictures of her fall, which subsequently appeared in several newspapers. The PCC said it was following up around 50 complaints.
Ms Ward's friend Keith Oliver, a partner at London firm Peters & Peters, told the Gazette she would be greatly missed. 'She was an outstandingly able lawyer who was well liked by friends and colleagues - she was vivacious, amusing and a wonderful friend,' he said.
