A colleague of mine forwarded an oath for executors to a client who lives in a town about 250 miles away from our office in Birkenhead. In her letter to the client, she politely asked, in view of the ongoing postal difficulties, if he could ask the solicitor administering the oath to return it to us via the DX.
She did not ask for a covering letter, just for a couple pieces of paper to be put in an envelope. The solicitor refused, saying that if they did so, they would need to open a file and charge the client.
How awfully petty.
