Pinsents shrinks name but expects bigger profits

National law firm Pinsent Curtis Biddle is chopping its name down to Pinsents following an internal design consultation.

A spokesman for the firm said the move was intended as an 'evolution rather than a revolution'.

The name change will take effect from the beginning of May to coincide with the new financial year.

Meanwhile, the spokesman said the firm is undergoing a rigorous performance management review at the moment, which might see some lawyers leaving.

The spokesman insisted that the firm's overall numbers would be maintained by new recruits and added: 'We are expecting to surprise with our profit figures this year.

With double-digit top-line growth probably out-performing the market and adding 10% to our turnover figures for last year.'

In unrelated developments, four partners have left Pinsents' Birmingham office in recent weeks.
