Policy statement

Roger Cohen states in his letter that 'Geoffrey Bindman has no mandate from the Anglo-Jewish community to criticise Israel's exercise of its right to self-defence' (see [2002] Gazette, 18 April, 20).

I would like to know what mandate Mr Cohen has to say that 'the policies of the Israeli government...

have the broad support of the Anglo-Jewish community'.

They don't have my support nor the support of many of my Jewish acquaintances.
