Preliminary notice of election of a non-constituency council member
The Law Society Council at its meeting on 16-17 July 2003 agreed to continue the designation Commerce and Industry Group for the seat formerly held by Howard Trust.
Preliminary notice is hereby given under by-law 56 that a ballot will be held to fill the above-mentioned seat, and nominations are invited.
Nominees for election must be members of the Society and must be members of the Commerce and Industry Group.
Those nominating candidates must be similarly qualified.
The council has fixed 12 October 2003 as the election date for filling this vacancy.
The successful candidate will serve the unexpired portion of his/her predecessor's term of office, that is, until the conclusion of the annual general meeting in 2005, being eligible for re-election thereafter.
