privacy ALARM ; ;Solicitor MEP Diana Wallis has called on the European Commission to stop the Council of Ministers plans to tackle cybercrime which include e-mail snooping.
;In the light of the Commissions investigation into the legality of the UKs Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000, which also allows interception of e-mails, Ms Wallis, the Liberal Democrat Internet spokesperson in the European Parliament, said: The Commission has its own proposals on cybercrime and there is no need for such e-mail surveillance measures to be included.
