Computer Software Group, the consolidation company that snapped up legal IT companies AIM, Laserform and Videss last year, looks set to be bought out itself by a private equity firm.

The move by Guildford AcquisitionCo would see CS Group valued at nearly £100 million.

Vin Murria, chief executive officer of CS Group, told the Gazette that the deal would put £47 million into the company that could then be used for further acquisitions.

'There will be more acquisitions in the legal industry this year,' said Ms Murria. 'This is to speed up our growth, not for any other reason.'

Teresa Jones, an analyst with research firm Butler Group, maintained the move could represent good value to the more than 30,000 users of CS Group's legal IT products as long as it remains responsive and 'provides a push'

s to customers to move with the times.

Further acquisitions by CS Group would leave only a handful of suppliers targeting the bulk of small to medium-sized law firms.
