Re a SolicitorApplication 8008/1999Hearing, 30 March 2000:reasons, 1 June 2000
The SDT found that allegations of unbefitting conduct made brought against a solicitor had not been substantiated.
Although individual aspects of the allegations had been admitted, the SDT was satisfied that the solicitor's failings had been minor and that the solicitor had not been knowingly dishonest.
In view of the solicitor's admissions, the OSS had been justified in investigating the matter and, under r.22 of the Solicitors (Disciplinary Proceedings) Rules 1994, the SDT ordered the solicitor to pay half of the costs (fixed at 1,250).
