Dealing in Cultural Objects (Offences) Act 2003.

An Act to provide for an offence of acquiring, disposing of, importing or exporting tainted cultural objects, or agreeing or arranging to do so.

The Act received Royal Assent on 30 October 2003, and comes into force two months after that date.

Immigration

A Green Paper - 'New Legislative Proposals on Asylum Reform' - published by the Home Office, outlines the proposals for legislation which will give the Immigration Services Commissioner powers to investigate legal advisers and introduce a single tier of appeal.

Solicitors

A statement of good practice in the appointment of solicitors for children where it falls to the court to appoint solicitors for children in specified proceedings has been prepared by a sub-committee of the Lord Chancellor's advisory committee on judicial case management in public law Children Act cases.
