Judicial review proceedings launched by the Mental Health Lawyers Association against the Legal Services Commission (LSC) have been stayed while the LSC reviews the complaints made against it. The association claimed the LSC was forcing firms out of business by 'retrospectively applied' changes to the funding criteria, which it said were introduced without consultation. Patrick Reeve, LSC head of Community Legal Service policy, said: 'The LSC is undertaking an internal review of providers' representations.
