I have just received my practising certificate and, to a degree, I am impressed with the new look. At least it fits the frame I have been using since 1977, when I was admitted to the roll by Lord Denning.
However, I am more than disappointed to see that I no longer have a roll number on my certificate, but a Solicitors Regulation Authority number. Did the regulatory body of the Law Society really have to tear up the roll to make its new presence felt?
