I was interested to know what 'anecdotal evidence' Peter Zahra SC and presumably Richard Collins have that the public defender system would save money despite apparently being more expensive to run than private practice (see [2003] Gazette, 18 September, 1).

This seems a contradiction in terms and I would expect a publication informing a profession that itself deals in evidential issues to know better.

I looked up the definition of 'anecdotal' which appears to mean things unpublished (or even legendary).
