The Serious Fraud Office (SFO) achieved a 57% conviction rate in trials completed in 2005/06, the agency's annual report has revealed. Thirteen out of 23 defendants were convicted, and ten acquitted. The SFO has enjoyed an average conviction rate of 61% over the past five years. Director Robert Wardle said its cases are becoming more complex and document-intensive.
