Your report on the challenge to Sharia Law by the One Law for All Campaign has highlighted a concern I have had for some time. Peter Tatchell is quoted as generally opposing sharia jurisprudence as homophobic, sexist and anti-democratic. I do not feel competent to express an opinion on an entire legal system that I have never studied, but I do have difficulty in understanding how any tribunal in the UK composed exclusively of male heterosexual judges can meet the anti-discrimination standards that are commonly required of courts and tribunals in this country. Can anyone explain how this is possible?
