Shedheads, from international firm Eversheds Sutherland, check out their winning entry to the Manchester heat of a global legal tech event last week. Their app, SHED, standardises student tenancy agreements to enable students, landlords and universities to better understand their obligations, and their rights when dealing with issues that arise. Judges were impressed by the ‘really nice user interface’ and the way the app leads users through the process of arranging an accommodation contract.

The event, held in Manchester and hosted by the University of Manchester and the Co-op’s Federation digital and social community, is part of the Global Legal Hackathon. The next stage of this year’s competition, which attracted entries from six continents, is the semi-final round, to be held on 29 March.
