Site boasts strong pulse ; ;London law firms Mishcon de Reya and Collyer-Bristow have joined forces to back LegalPulse, a legal information site launched last month.

;Both firms are partners in the site which provides free on-line documentation although, at present, neither has a financial stake in it.

;The firms are also involved in developing on-line information to support the documentation.

;Users who require legal advice are screened through a series of questions and referred to the most appropriate law firm to assist them.

Users, though, are under no obligation to use the firms recommended.

;Gill Switalski, the chief executive of LegalPulse, said she was in discussion with other firms, including some national firms, to back the site.

To ensure quality control, only six firms will be invited to join the project for the time being, she added.

;Joanna Kennedy, Collyer-Bristows head of litigation, said that by backing the site, the firm hoped to log on to the increasing Internet traffic of businesses looking for legal advice.
